Double Success for the Plastering Team!

Craven College Plastering Department is celebrating the success of its team and a plastering student at the 2022 Training Awards by the Worshipful Company of Plaisterers, held in London this week.

The Plastering department scooped the top prize, winning the Award for ‘Colleges and Independent Training Providers (small)’. Craven College Plastering student, Jason Ssebbata was awarded runner-up in the national ‘Student of the Year’ category.

The winners were announced in front of a packed audience held at the award ceremony was held at the beautiful Plaisterers Hall in London and presented by Alderman Sir Charles Bowman of the Lord Mayor’s Office.

Jason Ssebbata, a Level 2 Plastering student was accompanied by Steve Syers, who was representing Craven College at the event, alongside Kath Emmison, a Craven College Progression Support Assistant.

On their big wins of the evening, Steve comments, “I’m very proud of Jason. He did brilliantly in the shortlisting stage of these awards and it’s fantastic he has gone to be recognised by claiming the runner prize for Student of the Year. I’m really pleased that the College department has won the national small college/training provider award and it was an honour to be at the event to accept the prize. We’ve won a trophy and £1500 to spend exclusively on the Plastering department! I’m very proud of our team and of course, Jason and his achievement.”
