Thinking about a career in construction or want to build practical skills? Learn the fundamentals of bricklaying on this hands-on introductory course. You may even be building the next step in your career!

This beginner-friendly course provides a practical introduction to brickwork, giving you the skills and confidence to carry out basic bricklaying tasks. Delivered in a well-equipped workshop by experienced tutors, the course offers a supportive environment for learning.

Over course, you will gain hands-on experience working with a range of bricks and materials, while learning about their properties and uses. The course focuses on developing essential techniques that form the foundation for further study or entry into construction trades.

By the end of the course, you will have built a solid understanding of brickwork and the confidence to progress your skills further.

What you’ll cover

  • Setting out basic brickwork and bonding arrangements
  • Applying mortar correctly
  • Pointing and jointing techniques
  • Creating different finishes
  • Incorporating decorative panels into brickwork models
  • Introduction to external work such as concreting, flagging and brick paving

Entry Requirements

No prior experience is necessary – just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn a new skill.
