Fashion & Textile Students Enjoy Workshop
Designer and artist Joan Murray visited the College to deliver a knitting workshop to Fashion & Textiles students.
Joan specialises in knitting and weaving for fashion and brought a huge range of samples, garments, and artwork to share with the students.
Joan is just one of the incredible local artists who visit the College on an annual basis and works to inspire students with top-tier experience, knowledge, and creative designs.
Students will use the knit techniques taught at the workshop to develop ideas for their projects which will be showcased at a fashion show later in 2025.
Laura Lee Brennand, Lecturer in Art & Design said, “It was wonderful to have Joan in college to demonstrate machine knitting techniques to the students. The students value the opportunities to meet a range of practitioners in the industry, so we really appreciate Joan coming in to discuss her experiences of working in the industry and sharing her portfolio with the group.”
