Take control of your camera and create more confident, creative photographs. This course will help you move beyond automatic settings and understand how to make intentional photographic choices.
This course is designed for adults who want to gain a solid foundation in digital photography. You will learn how to move beyond Auto mode and begin using manual camera settings to achieve better control over your images.
Through practical exercises and guided discussion, you will explore observation, composition and in‑camera techniques to create more dynamic photographs. You will develop an understanding of aperture, shutter speed and ISO, learning how each setting affects exposure and creative outcomes. The course also encourages you to review, select and curate your strongest images to support visual storytelling.
By the end of the course, you will feel more confident using your camera and making informed creative decisions when taking photographs.

Entry Requirements

Please bring:
- A digital camera with an empty SD card
- A card reader or download cable
The College has a limited number of cameras available to borrow. These can be booked in advance when you sign up.
