Discover the creative and rewarding practice of lino cut print making in this hands-on introductory course.
You will be guided through each stage of the process, from developing an initial idea through to producing your own series of finished prints.
Lino printing is a relief printing technique that transforms drawn images into bold and striking graphic outcomes. During the course, you will learn how to design and transfer an image, safely use lino cutting tools to create a variety of marks and textures, and explore different methods of inking and printing by hand and with a press.
You will also experiment with pattern, repetition and the use of text, and gain an understanding of reduction techniques. By the end of the course, you will have produced a small collection of prints and built confidence in your creative skills.
