In this engaging one-day workshop perfect for beginners, you will learn the fundamental skills needed to create your own clay sculpture inspired by the timeless form of the Venus.
This engaging one-day workshop introduces you to the art of ceramic sculpture, using the timeless Venus form as inspiration. Suitable for beginners, the session offers a supportive and creative environment to explore sculptural techniques using clay.
Guided by historical examples, you can choose to follow classical influences or develop your own contemporary interpretation. With step-by-step guidance from your tutor, you will learn how to shape, refine and build your sculpture while developing confidence in working with clay.
By the end of the workshop, you will have created your own Venus-inspired torso sculpture, which will be professionally fired and ready for collection at a later date.

Entry Requirements
No prior experience is necessary – just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn a new skill.
Information
All materials required to make your sculpture are included in the course fee.
For your safety and comfort, please bring:
- Closed-toe footwear
- Long hair tied back
- No valuable jewellery
- Optional: your own apron (aprons are also available to borrow)
- A drink and snack (there will be a break)
