Students Visit Business to Reinforce Learning

Year 1 and 2 Level 3 Business students recently undertook a visit to Mansfield Pollard & Co Ltd in Bradford. The trip was intended to give vital insights and experiences to help with the Exploring Business, Finance, Digital Marketing, Legal Systems, Principles of Management, and Team Building units of their course.

Mansfield Pollard specialise in air management systems covering controlling temperature, removing pollutants, or limiting noise and have over 155 years’ experience and work from 6 specialist business units with 321000 square feet of factory space.

Students were met by Louise Ellis-Frankland (CEO), Ben Priestley (CFO) and Nick Baldwin (Marketing Director) before enjoying a series of talks on an overview of business operations, before learning about the manufacturing plant and taking a tour around the factory.

Students particularly enjoyed experiencing Mansfield Pollard’s sleeping pods! Having spent time in Asia for work, staff observed office perks they had not seen before. Mansfield Pollard have sleeping pods that all office and warehouse can use, if they need to take some time out. These can be booked out for a rest-break and even just to read a book! They have found that it has improved staff productivity and well-being.
