Toolstation Relationship Boosts Bricklaying
We were delighted to welcome representatives from Toolstation to our Bricklaying department to show them the facilities and receive their very generous donation of 75 high viz vests all ready for our students to use.

We have been working with Toolstation for just over a year for both the purchasing of course requirements but also gaining valuable industry support for our students who will one day be customers too! Toolstation have facilitated a number of supplier training days and it’s fantastic to have such a relationship where students can gain firsthand experience with the products, so they have the knowledge when they go out on placement or even into the world of work.
Louise Holden, Business Development Account Manager at Toolstation said, “We have a fantastic relationship with all the staff, and I love seeing the engagement of the students with staff and especially the suppliers when they visit. It is great to see such development of the future of our construction industry and the growth of the department within the College.
“The local store and its Manager Andy are a key point of this relationship, initially in the supply of goods to the College itself but also as a familiar face when the students are making their own purchases in the future. It has been so exciting to be able to provide these dual-branded Hi-Viz jackets. I’m proud this will be alongside our banner, which will be situated in the new facility once completed.”

Ian Maltby, Lecturer in Bricklaying added “Along with us purchasing tools and some materials from Toolstation, they are a great contact to help us get guests in from suppliers and companies to speak to our students.”
Martin Lofthouse, Head of Construction commented “At Craven College we value working with local suppliers and manufacturers such as Toolstation. They offer a wide range of construction tools and materials that are essential for vocational and technical training programmes.
“Collaborations with industry-specific suppliers give learners the opportunity to work with the same tools and equipment they will encounter in their careers. This enhances their skills and makes them more competitive in the job market.
“Suppliers like Toolstation can offer insight into industry trends, new tools, and technology, which can help colleges shape their curriculum to be more up-to-date and relevant to the modern workplace. They also provide training sessions, demonstrations, or workshops, which enrich the learning experience for both instructors and learners.”
