Want to learn practical woodworking skills? Build confidence using tools and create your own joinery joints in this hands-on course.

 

This course provides a practical introduction to joinery, helping you build confidence in working with wood and using tools safely and effectively. Suitable for beginners, the course is designed to develop essential skills and techniques for creating basic joinery components.

Working in a supportive workshop environment, you will learn how to measure, prepare and shape timber while developing an understanding of different woodworking methods. With guidance from experienced tutors, you will progress at your own pace and may have the opportunity to produce small joinery items to take home.

What you’ll cover

  • Health and safety requirements in the workshop
  • Measuring, marking out and cutting timber accurately
  • Safe and correct use of woodworking hand tools
  • Creating basic woodworking joints
  • Producing finishes suitable for simple joinery projects

Entry Requirements

No prior experience is necessary – just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn a new skill.

All materials required are included in the course fee.

For your safety and comfort, please bring:

  • Sturdy closed-toe footwear (no trainers)
  • Long hair tied back
  • No valuable jewellery
  • Notepad & Pen
  • A drink and snack
