IT Students Visit to Leeds Digital Careers Fair 

This week the Level 2 and Level 3 IT students visited the Leeds Digital Careers Fair at the First Direct Arena.

Whilst at the exhibition the students were able to explore and take part in the following:

Exhibitors Galore:

With over 50 exhibitors expected, the event promised a diverse and comprehensive showcase of the digital and tech industry. The students explored and engaged with major employers to understand and be informed about what skills they look for in their candidates and help find their perfect tech role.

Tech Demonstrations and Inspirational Speakers:

The students immersed themselves in technology with live demonstrations from key speakers covering a spectrum of topics related to digital careers and pathways, who shared their experiences, insights, and valuable advice.

Recruiters and Hiring Managers:

They were also able to connect directly with recruiters and hiring managers from some of the industry’s biggest names and discover current and future job opportunities and apprenticeships that align with their skills and aspirations.

Career Pathways Exploration:

The students were able to explore a variety of career pathways in digital and tech, speaking to training providers offering courses ranging from T-levels and apprenticeships to bootcamps and degree programmes.

Giles Atkinson, Head of Digital, Creative and Public Industries said, “The event allowed students to speak to experts to help them decide on their possible next steps and gain valuable knowledge and experience of the industry in which they are studying. allowing them to discover all their options under one roof.”
