Develop the digital skills you need for everyday life and the modern workplace.
Digital skills are essential in today’s workplace and are required across an increasing range of job roles. On this course, you will develop practical digital skills that employers value and that you can also use confidently in everyday life.
You will build confidence using digital devices and online tools, learning how to handle information effectively and communicate professionally. The course supports you to work safely and responsibly online while developing skills that are relevant to both employment and daily tasks.
During the course, you will work towards the following qualifications:
- Entry 3 Award in Progression (Digital)
- Level 1 Digital Functional Skills

- Use digital devices confidently and effectively
- Search the internet safely and efficiently
- Create, edit and manage documents
- Create and use spreadsheets
- Communicate professionally using email
- Complete digital transactions
- Stay safe and responsible online
This course requires commitment for the full duration of the programme. You are expected to attend all sessions and complete homework and independent study tasks outside of the classroom to support your learning and progression.
Entry Requirements
It is helpful if you have previously completed an Essential Digital Skills qualification and can demonstrate basic digital skills, such as:
- Turning on and using a device
- Connecting to Wi‑Fi
- Using basic device controls
- Navigating the home screen
You will complete an initial assessment to ensure they are enrolled on the correct course.
Information
Computers and software will be provided.
You may wish to bring:
- A notebook and pen
There will be breaks during sessions. Please bring your own drink and snack if required.
Further Study
On successful completion of this course, you may progress onto:
- Certificate in Digital and IT Skills Level 2
The skills gained on this course may also support progression into employment or improve digital confidence across a wide range of job roles.
