Two Craven College students participated in the prestigious Food and Wine Society Young Chef Competition at Warrington and Vale Royal College this week. Now in its third year, this year’s competition is the biggest and best to date!

Joe Seddon, an Apprentice at Herriots Hotel prepared cod fillet with black pudding crumb, garlic new potatoes and pea puree topped with a poached egg.

Finlay Farrar, a Level 2 Diploma in Culinary student made stuffed belly pork with black pudding and fondant potatoes, accompanied by carrots puree and a red wine jus.

Both students performed really well on the day, showcasing their dedication and hard work. The exciting final results will be revealed at a prize giving lunch at Bolton College on Tuesday 21 May.

Craven College Catering Tutor, Will Jacques said, “I am very proud of what my students have achieved.”

Everyone at Craven College wishes Joe and Finlay the best of luck – we can’t wait to hear the results!
