Guest Speakers Enhance Business Students’ Learning
Level 3 Business students have welcomed a range of speakers into College over the last few months to complement their classroom learning.

Firstly, we welcomed Joe Walshaw-Scott and Rory Howe from Crag and Co Accountants in Embsay. This provided a valuable insight into the role of an accountant and the careers within this industry available to students. It was even more special as Rory completed a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business with us last year and is now currently completing an apprenticeship at Crag and Co – we always love to keep up with our former students and follow their careers!
More recently Ashley Waddington from Eccles Greenwood Financial Planning, Barnoldswick shared insight into his role and career as a financial planner. He covered what a financial adviser actually does, why financial advice can make such a big difference over time, and some of the key concepts that shape people’s financial futures. He also shared an insight into his own journey into financial advice including the qualifications involved, and what a career in the profession can look like for those considering the industry.
Jolie Whitwell, Lecturer in Business said, “Both guest speakers have benefitted our students by providing practical insight and career knowledge. Whilst all our guests enhanced learning for the Finance units of the course, the main value and focus was on progression and career options.”
