As a equine student, you’ll study at Craven Arena, located at our Auction Mart campus. This state-of-the-art facility includes an international-sized arena and an outdoor warm-up area. With 22 stables for College horses and a variety of breeds, plus livery opportunities, you’ll enjoy a rich equine experience with access to top-notch facilities.
Our Equine courses offers a wide variety of industrial placements, including stud yards, vets, competition yards, rehabilitation centres, welfare charities, riding schools, and livery yards. These placements will help you develop your skills and boost your employability.
You’ll engage in both theoretical and practical studies, preparing you for immediate employment or further specialisation in areas like Equitation, Teaching, Science and Husbandry, or Stud-based units if you aim for Degree-level study. You’ll frequently work within Craven Arena, taking part in duties such as grooming, feeding, mucking out, and tacking up the horses.
Our tutors bring a wealth of experience from various disciplines, including Dressage, Show Jumping, Equitation, Cross Country, Veterinary Physiotherapy, BHS Standard Setting, and producing Competition Horses to Affiliated Level. They’ve worked with Olympic Eventers, hunters, thoroughbreds, and point-to-pointers, and compete in events like British Eventing and British Dressage. As a student, you’ll benefit from their industry links, guest speakers and visits to Bramham Horse Trials.
