Creative Media Production & Technology End of Year Showcase

Creative Media students and their invited guests came together on Friday 26 May for the inaugural Creative Media Production & Technology End of Year Showcase, held at The Plaza Cinema, Skipton.

This exciting event was a captivating celebration of the exceptional work and creative concepts explored by our Creative Media students. The evening showcased the variety of work students have produced throughout the course, mostly through the medium of a showreel which was shown on the Plaza cinema screen, with some additional work displayed in alternative fashions.

This event reflects the culmination of a year’s worth of dedication and creativity but also serves as the final opportunity for many students to display their work before embarking on their next chapter – whether entering the workforce or continuing their studies in higher education.

The event started with Level 2 showreels, a short interval followed by Level 3 showreels with the evening culminating with the awarding of the prizes to successful students celebrating a range of talents and specialisms. A huge congratulations to all our award winners!

Ben Pearson, Lecturer in Creative Media said, “The Plaza is a great venue for us to use, it has been a solid part of the community for well over 100 years and has provided past students with excellent work experience. It was a fantastic place for students to see their work on the big screen. These experiences are fundamental for any young creative as it shows them a path of their work being displayed, enjoyed and celebrated by multiple members of the community.”
