Thinking about working with children? This could be your first step!
This course will provide you with the basic knowledge and understanding of the needs of young children, aged from birth to five years, based in a variety of settings.
During this course you will learn about:
- Healthy eating for children and planning activities to encourage children to eat healthily
- Supporting the provision of a safe learning environment for young children
- Health and safety requirements and the importance of keeping all children safe from harm
- Designing a range of play activities for young children aimed at their age and stage of development
It is expected that you will complete homework outside of the classroom.

There are no entry requirements however you will need to have an initial assessment to ensure that you are on the correct course and that you are committed to the full duration of the course.
