Want to order tapas in Spain or get by confidently when travelling? Start your Spanish journey and learn practical language for everyday situations.

This beginner-friendly course is ideal for those with little or no prior knowledge of Spanish who would like to learn the basics in a supportive and enjoyable environment.

You will develop your communication skills through listening to authentic Spanish speakers, practising short conversations, reading simple texts and writing basic messages. The course focuses on building confidence in speaking and understanding Spanish in real-life situations rather than focusing heavily on grammar.

As your skills develop, you will also gain an insight into both Spanish and Latin American culture and traditions, enhancing your understanding of the language and its global use.

By the end of the course, you will be able to use simple Spanish confidently in everyday situations such as travel, shopping and social interactions.

  • Basic pronunciation and key phrases
  • Greetings and introductions
  • Ordering food and drinks
  • Shopping and everyday transactions
  • Asking for and understanding directions
  • Talking about yourself and others
  • Making travel arrangements
  • Reading simple signs and writing short messages
  • Cultural awareness of Spanish-speaking countries

This course uses a variety of interactive teaching methods, including speaking, listening, reading and writing activities. The emphasis is on communication and building confidence in a relaxed learning environment.

There are no formal entry requirements. This course is suitable for complete beginners.
