This qualification is designed for learners who wish to develop a range of skills and techniques in art and design. This qualification will focus on the study of art and design through understanding the work of other artists and offer breadth and depth of study in 2D and 3D media.

This course in Art & Design for adults builds on previous skills learnt from Level 1 study. You will expand your creativity and expertise using traditional art materials and techniques and also engage in new technologies. You will continue to develop your knowledge of art history and contemporary art practice, making links with your own ideas and that of other artists. You will be taught in well-equipped studios which have printmaking facilities, graphic studios with Mac Computers, 3D modelling areas as well as Fine Art studio areas to develop painting and drawing skills. Visits to art galleries and museums are also encouraged.

This course will require independent study and research as well as one full day of study in college each week. You will complete 5 units to achieve the certificate.
