Wellbeing the Focus of College Fair
A range of exhibitors attended Craven College, to speak to students and staff about their mental and physical wellbeing. It’s really important that students have a wonderful time at College alongside their studies and whether you want to meet new people, develop new skills, or gain support you will have the opportunity whilst at Craven College.

Students enjoyed a range of stalls including: –
Doodling for Mindfulness
Making tissue flowers for our 200-year commemorative sculpture
Pom Pom Making
Healthy Eating, with a focus on sugar consumption
Samaritans
NHS giving information on Hepatitis C
Safety on nights out
IDAS – Domestic Abuse and Violence
Horizon Health Clinic
North Yorkshire Youth

Our EdTech Lead Beth Snowden brought our VR equipment to the fair to help students experience the benefits of technology as an aid to mindfulness, and said “The Student Wellbeing Fair was well attended and enjoyed by many students. It was a great opportunity to have our latest Virtual Reality App, Gorilla VR available on two Metaquest Headsets. Students could choose from 10 different immersive 360 videos and visit various cities and countries from Tokyo to Toronto. The 5-minute video on breathing exercises whilst visiting different beaches around the world was particularly welcome. We are looking forward to using a new range of Gorilla VR videos from April for student activities and open days.”

Victoria Alderson, Enrichment Officer added, “The Wellbeing Fair was a lovely event supported and enjoyed by students from across the College. There was something for everyone’s health and wellbeing, physical and mental with expert advice from exterior providers and brilliant mindfulness activities from our Art and Design students, who helped to spread the joy at the event.”
College student James said, “I would give it 10/10, it was a really good fair and the VR headsets are brilliant, I would recommend them to everyone!“
