We were delighted to welcome the Rt Hon Sir Julian Smith KCB CBE MP for Skipton and Ripon to our Auction Mart Campus on Friday 28 February to showcase our newest developments and the ongoing work to our educational facilities.
Part of ongoing work funded by T Level capital funding from the Department of Education, the £2.3 million project in conjunction with ADNC Projects Ltd will improve the construction and mechanics facilities at College.

The visit started at Auction Mart Reception, where Sir Julian was met by Anita Lall, Principal and CEO, Gareth Dixon, Deputy Principal and CEO, Wesley McGlinchey, Assistant Principal Curriculum & Student Experience, and Neil Roe, Governor of Craven College and Chair of Skipton Bid.
The party then visited the new motor vehicle workshops, where tutor Mark Teale spoke about how the developments have improved the learning experience for students.

The visit continued at our old equine area which is currently under development and will become the new construction department, before culminating at the new Equine Arena, which recently celebrated its second birthday!
The Rt Hon Sir Julian Smith KCB CBE said, “It’s been absolutely fantastic to see the new facilities and developments here at Craven College today. The motor vehicle facility is already giving opportunities to students to learn with the benefit of a modern, open and accessible vehicle facility.
“The construction facility once completed will similarly provide great opportunities for those wanting to learn and work in the building trades. I’ve seen additional developments taking place at Craven Equine, which I originally visited last year – these are all very exciting additions to the College”

Anita Lall, Principal and CEO added, “It was a pleasure to have Sir Julian visit Craven College and see our industry-ready motor vehicle facilities and the work on the new construction facilities. We also had the opportunity to show off the Equine Arena. We welcome Sir Julian’s support for the college and the work it does to provide high quality education and training to our students and apprentices as well as meeting the skills needs of local employers.”
Gareth Dixon, Vice Principal and CEO commented, “We were delighted to welcome Sir Julian Smith to Craven College to see our ongoing collaboration with Craven Cattle Mart and ADNC Projects Limited to develop our construction and mechanics facilities.
“The facilities will provide a fantastic opportunity for our students to develop their skills and to support the local economy moving forwards.”
