Aviation Academy students were recognised last week for their unique and creative vision for the ‘Future of Flight’, at a week-long boot camp organised by Flight Crowd.

Students from the Aviation Academy were invited to join the ‘Future of Flight Boot Camp’, which consisted of online lectures with industry professionals followed by a project working with other students from all over the UK.

Flight Crowd is a UK educational not-for-profit Air Mobility Community set to inform, engage, and inspire the public on the topic of the Future of Flight, such as drones and electric aircraft.

At the end of the week Aviation students visited the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry to present the project work they’d produced over the week, resulting in one of the Aviation teams being awarded a prize winner for their creation of a design of ‘Droneaxi’;  a taxi service for the elderly to avoid missed NHS appointments. The team had researched the project well looking at design and costs, designing a booking app, and presented with feeling and authenticity.

Congratulations to our Aviation Academy students on how they embrace new and exciting challenges!
