Media Students Enjoy Bringing Creativity to Celebrations
Three of our Creative Media students were tasked with producing a video for The Open Door Centre in Colne to be used as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations.

The Open Door Centre is a drop-in support centre operating in the deprived ward of Waterside in Pendle, an area of declining employment and high social deprivation, providing a safe, nurturing and friendly environment for individuals experiencing a vulnerable time in their lives.
The Centre offers amongst other services Crisis Support, Community Café, Counselling, Training, Self-help and Peer Support, and has been a vital community lifeline since 2000!
Our students were given the brief of producing a video entitled “What the Open Door Centre Means to Us” that captured the heart and impact of the centre through the voices of the people who engage with it; members of the public, the staff, and volunteers.
Nick Alderson, Centre Manager said, “I wanted to take a moment to thank you and your students for the incredible videography project they created for the Open Door Centre’s 25th Anniversary. The video was shown at the Municipal Hall in front of 200 guests, and the response was nothing short of outstanding. Rebecca, Robbie and Luke are an absolute credit to you and the college.
Everyone in attendance was blown away by the quality, creativity, and professionalism of the work. It captured the heart of the centre perfectly and added so much to the celebration. Please pass on my sincere thanks and congratulations to your students—they should be very proud of what they achieved.
Their efforts made a real impact and will be remembered as a highlight of the event.”
Ben Pearson, Lecturer in Creative Media added, “Rebecca, Luke and Robbie took part in a community project with Colne’s Open Door Centre in celebration of the organisations 25th anniversary. This was an excellent project for the Creative Media students to be involved in and showcased their excellent skills. Their professionalism and dedication to the project showcases the high standard of student we have on the media courses.”
Well done Rebecca, Luke and Robbie!
