Esports Students Host Local School

Published 17 April

Earlier this week, Level 3 Year 2 Esports students ran another successful tournament for Bowland High, Clitheroe. The aim of this event was to raise awareness of Esports courses at Craven College and for College students to put into real world practice the skills they have learned during their studies.

Esports students ran the event fully, from managing the games, to broadcasting the event of Overwatch for the visiting pupils.

The pupils and school staff that attended the event were very impressed with the time spent in College and really appreciated the hard work the students put in to make the event a success. The visitors also gained information about our courses and the wider opportunities that Esports as an industry sector can provide.

As with these previous events, the learners worked very well as a team, and despite the issues, the event ran smoothly and the Bowland Pupils enjoyed their time at college.

Chris Wright, Programme Lead for Esports said, “The students worked very well as a team and as part of the day they had to deal with unexpected technical issues such as player login problems and issues when broadcasting. The students managed these problems well, and they had little impact on the sessions as a whole, so very well done to all involved!
