200th Anniversary Tour Continues!
2025 was an incredibly special year for Craven College as we celebrated the incredible milestone of 200 years as part of the educational landscape of Skipton. As part of the ongoing celebrations, we have brought exhibitions from the end of year event out into the community to share with the people of Skipton and beyond!
Starting from Wednesday 15 April at the Craven Museum at Skipton Town Hall and running until Tuesday 30 June visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy viewing items from Craven College’s lengthy history and even see whether they can spot themselves amongst our collection of archive photos! Further exhibits show just some of the ways the 200-year celebrations have connected the College and the community!
Anita Lall, Principal and CEO of Craven College said “Last year Craven College celebrated 200 amazing years as part of the fabric of the town of Skipton, and we’re so delighted to be able to share the history of the College with our local community. Craven College’s journey and history is fundamentally linked with that of Skipton and so displaying our exhibition in Craven Museum is the perfect way to share our celebrations with the local community.”
Charlotte Craig, Museum Curator Craven Museum & Knaresborough Castle added, “The Community Case is a key part of our outreach and engagement work at Craven Museum. We offer temporary display space to local groups and organisations in our award-winning museum space that is integrated with the rest of our exhibitions.
“Being able to host and support four different displays each year allows partners to exhibit their work and collections while giving our visitors something new to see on a regular basis. We’re very happy to work with Craven College as an important and historic local organisation.”
