Equine students had the opportunity to take part in a series of dressage competitions in our fabulous Craven Arena.

The events gave our students chance to take part in a ridden competition and to develop a variety of skills required for success in the industry.

Students practiced the dressage tests in their ridden lessons prior to the competition day whilst all horses were plaited and prepared to a very high standard for the event.

Parents and carers, together with College staff were invited to be part of the audience, whilst Governors attended and participated in the prize-giving.

Standards in the competition were incredibly high, which gave our guest judge, Danielle Fox Head of Animal and Science, a very difficult job indeed!

This was a true cross-college collaborative event, with a number of staff assisting in ensuring the event could take place whilst photography students, Steph Carr, and the Marketing Department captured the event with some amazing photographs.

Ellie Stephenson, Lecturer in Equine Studies said, “well done to all students for taking part and a massive thank you to all staff who were involved in making this a really wonderful day.”
