As part of their work experience last term, students on our Media course undertook a project with Skipton Walking Football Club to produce a promotional film.

Skipton Walking Football Club Promotional Video

The two-minute film showcases the benefits of walking football, particularly for individuals looking to improve their physical and mental wellbeing.

Christopher McGrath of Skipton Walking Football Club said, “I would like to express my appreciation of the work done by Ben Pearson and Colin Maunder and last term’s students in producing a promotional film for our walking football club.

“The film has been distributed to local healthcare providers and will be a key tool in encouraging more people to engage in this low intensity, yet highly beneficial sport.

“Please extend my thanks to them once again and know their work has been deeply appreciated by our entire club.”

Colin Maunder, Lecturer in Creative Media added, “Work experience is a crucial part of the learning experience. On our course students are developing in-demand content creation skills and this community-based project is typical of the links we are building across the local area to support local businesses and organisations with this area of their work, while at the same time building student confidence and developing their work-readiness.”

Applications are still open for Media Studies courses starting this September, for more information please visit our website to find out more.
