This week The Style Academy were delighted to host Martine O’Neill, Senior Spa Business Manager with TempleSpa to speak to our Level 3 Beauty Therapy students in advance of their takeover of the Devonshire Spa in April.
Martine started the session with a talk about her amazing career journey around the world, which really inspired our learners and gave them a great insight into where their qualifications could take them!
Students then listened to a fascinating insight into the history of TempleSpa and its founders and the wide range of products they have.
Martine gave a very helpful guide to the range of products that students would be using in their treatments when they “takeover” the Devonshire Spa. They then enjoyed a practical session learning an opening ritual for any treatment and some expert therapist movements.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Martine for her time in coming to visit to share her expertise and for leaving us with an amazing product range for our students to use before they participate in the Spa takeover day.
In class the following day, students enjoyed a further practical session familiarising themselves with the brand-new products and using them to do a facial. Students were timed on the treatment, giving them a taste of a high-pressure environment!

Tracy Howarth, Lecturer in Beauty Therapy added, “a big thank you to Martine for coming in to visit us. Visits like this are so important to our students’ learning. We’re really looking forward to the takeover day. It will give students the opportunity to prepare for real life and experience what a day is like in the workplace.”
Level 3 student Aimee said “I’m really looking forward to the takeover day. It will be really good for experience and to give us confidence,” whilst Level 3 student Grace added “it will be good to experience a working environment for the day”.
Our Beauty Therapy students are taking over the Devonshire Spa on Tuesday 29 April 2025 and will be offering: –
- 60-minute full body massage
- 60-minute facials
- 60-minute manicures
- 60-minute pedicures
