Beauty Students Take Over The Devonshire Spa!

Recently, ten of our Level 2 and Level 3 Beauty Therapy students had the amazing opportunity to experience working in a luxury spa when they took over The Devonshire Spa for a day.

This unique collaboration gave our students the chance for some amazing first-hand experience in the most beautiful of settings, whilst The Devonshire Spa had the chance to help shape the beauty therapists of the future.

Guests had a choice of 60-minute treatments including full body massage, facial, manicure, and pedicure, and then two-hour access to the state-of-the-art vitality pool, sauna, steam room, rasul chamber, and lounge.

College students undertook every aspect of running a spa, from meeting and greeting their clients, offering and providing refreshments, and then conducting the all-important treatments.

Kerry Wardman, Spa Manager said “It was an absolute pleasure to host the beauty students from Craven College. They really did themselves proud and are a credit to the College.

The spa and beauty industry is full of many exciting and progressive career opportunities and the takeover was a fantastic opportunity for the students to gain practical knowledge and experience of running a busy, fully functioning spa to complement their classroom-based training.

I feel that initiatives like this are essential in preparing confident, capable professionals who are ready to step into the industry with hands-on experience and passion, and I like to think we helped towards that.

When education and industry come together like this, we don’t just shape careers—we elevate the whole profession and help to bridge gaps between education and employment. This takeover wasn’t just a learning experience—it was a glimpse into the future of our next generation of professionals and reminds us why nurturing new talent is not just important, it’s essential to our continued growth and success as an industry
