Ready to get hands-on and build a career that puts your passion into action? At Craven College, you can choose between two exciting career routes in the mechanical engineering sector – Automotive or Agricultural Engineering. Whether you’re into cars and cutting-edge tech or want to play a vital role in farming and sustainability, there’s a path here for you.

If you’re passionate about the outdoors, big machines and making a difference in the environment and food production, agricultural engineering is for you. Based at our Auction Mart campus in Skipton, you’ll be at the heart of the region’s farming industry, with access to career opportunities across Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cumbria.
You’ll work with a wide range of machinery like tractors, combine harvesters, 4x4s, ground care and plant equipment, gaining real-world experience and technical skills that employers look for. From day one, you’ll be preparing for a future in agricultural mechanics – a career that’s essential, in-demand and full of potential.

Obsessed with cars? Love figuring out how things work? Choose automotive engineering and join a booming industry with a growing need for skilled technicians. With the shift towards hybrid and electric vehicles, this is the perfect time to start a career in motor vehicle maintenance and repair.
At Craven College, you’ll work on petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric cars, giving you the broad skill set needed in today’s fast-evolving automotive industry. Whether your dream is to work in a garage, specialise in motorsport, or explore electric vehicle technology, we’ll help you get there.

You’ll be taught by experienced mechanics and engineers who’ve worked across Motor Sports, Construction Plant Repair, Agricultural Machinery and Vehicle Maintenance. They’ll share their insider knowledge and guide you through both the practical and theory side of your course – whether you’re studying full-time or joining us as an Apprentice.
