Build the knowledge and confidence needed to handle medication safely and correctly within health and social care settings.
This qualification is designed to help you develop a clear understanding of how medication should be administered, stored, disposed of and recorded safely within health and social care environments.
You will gain knowledge of different types of medication and prescriptions, understand legal and professional responsibilities, and learn how safe medication practices protect both individuals and care staff. Studying online allows you to learn at a time and pace that suits your work or home commitments, while still receiving structured tutor support.
What you’ll cover:
- Understanding medication and prescriptions
- Supply, storage and disposal of medication
- Understanding the requirements for the safe administration of medication
- Record keeping and audit processes for medication
For each unit, you will complete a set of knowledge-based questions as part of the formal assessment. Your tutor will provide feedback after each unit. All assessments must be completed and passed to successfully achieve the qualification.
Entry Requirements
- You will need a Level 1 or equivalent English language and maths qualification to enrol on this course.
- You may also find it helpful if you have already achieved a Level 1 qualification and are working in a role that involves handling medication within health and social care.
