This course will provide an understanding of the different types of diabetes and how they can occur. It will also develop awareness of how the onset of Type 2 can be delayed with lifestyle changes. The course also helps to develop understanding of diabetes diagnosis and initial care as well as the
on-going care and treatment of diabetes to control blood sugar levels.

It’s designed for a wide range of learners who wish to gain an understanding of the care and management of diabetes and is ideal for those working or intending to work in health and social care.

  • Understand the initial care of Diabetes
  • Understand the treatment and management of Diabetes

For each unit, a set of knowledge questions are issued as the formal assessment.
Your tutor will provide feedback following the completion of each. All assessments must be completed and passed in order for you to successfully achieve the qualification.
