Below you’ll find everything you need to know about enrolling at Craven College.

Enrolment is a process that all Craven College students will go through, whether you are a new or returning student. Which process you need to follow and what information you need to bring will depend on which level of course you study, and each enrolment process is listed below.

At your enrolment session, you will have the opportunity to speak with tutors and support teams to ensure you are happy with your choice of course and level.

Enrolment will take place at Craven College, Aireville Campus, Gargrave Road, Skipton, BD23 1US

Further Education Enrolment Information (School Leavers & Returning Students)

Progressing Students (Not waiting for results)
  • Monday 18 August, 1pm – 4pm (All returning students except Travel, Early Years or Health & Social Care)
  • Tuesday 19 August, 1pm – 4pm (All returning students)
New Students and Progressing Students
  • Tuesday 19 August, 10am – 12noon (Foundation Learning Students Only)
  • Thursday 21 August, 9am – 7pm
  • Friday 22 August, 9am – 1:30pm
  • Tuesday 26 August, 10am – 4pm
  • Wednesday 27 August, 10am – 12noon
  • Thursday 28 August, 10am – 4pm (also including English and Maths Initial Assessments for part-time students)
  • Friday 29 August, 10am – 1:30pm
Apprenticeships Enrolment Information

If you are an apprentice, our Apprenticeship team will contact you directly with further details about your enrolment. If you have not yet applied for an Apprenticeship, please come to one of our enrolment sessions listed in the Further Education Enrolment Information section.

Access to Higher Education (HE) for Adults (19+) Enrolment Information

Any Access to Higher Education (HE) student can attend one of the enrolment sessions listed in the Further Education Enrolment Information section or attend the following Access to HE session:

  • Thursday 04 September, 4pm – 6pm
What do I need to do before I enrol?

If you are required to pay for your Access to HE course, you will be able to apply for the Advanced Learner Loan from the Student Loans Company. It is essential that you apply for your loan as soon as possible to ensure that it is in place for enrolment. The application process is completed online and can take a couple of days to be processed if you have a valid passport. If you are required to send any documentation to the Student Loans Company, it can take up to 12 weeks. If your loan is not approved, you will be unable to finalise your enrolment however, as long as a loan is being processed, we will allow you to attend your course as a visitor for a short period. Higher Education (Degree) Enrolment Information

Before you enrol as a degree student, please take a look at the Pre-enrolment information:

Returning HE Students

All returning internal students will be emailed a link to enrol to their student email account before the start of term.

New HE Students

New students will be enrolling in person at one of the following dates and locations:

  • Thursday 14 August, 1pm – 4pm (Aviation Academy campus)
  • Thursday 28 August, 1pm – 4pm (Level 4 students – Skipton campus)
  • Thursday 04 September, 4pm – 6pm (Skipton campus only)

If you are an Aviation student and are unable to attend on of the dates above, The Aviation Academy will be running in person enrolments by appointment only during the week of 26 August. To book your appointment, contact The Aviation Academy on 0113 391 0919 or email info@theaviationacademy.co.uk

What you need to bring

When you attend enrolment, please ensure you bring:

  • Examination results slips/certificates – these must be your original certificates/results slips or an electronic copy

  • A form of ID – Acceptable forms of ID are: National Insurance Card, Passport, Driving Licence, Bank Card, ID Card or other forms of national identification

  • Exam support – If you require any exam support and would have received some at school, please make sure that you bring along your evidence of your exam access with you
  • For students aged 19 and over – Please bring with you proof of income-related benefits, confirmation of Advanced Learner Loan, or if you are paying your fees, you will be required to bring a 20% course fee deposit. Where fees are to be paid wholly or in part by an employer/sponsor, confirmation in writing must be produced at enrolment

If you are a Degree Level student, you will also need:

  • Your University/College Payment Advice from the Student Loans Company (you can download this page from your online account). If you are still waiting for this due to applying through Clearing, please upload that you have applied for student finance, showing your name and customer reference number. (If Student Finance are paying your fees but you cannot provide proof, you will not be able to enrol.)

  • If you plan to pay your fees yourself, a 20% deposit is required, and the remainder may be paid by Direct Debit. Please call the Customer Services Team on 01756 791 411 to make a card payment for your deposit or fees in full.

  • Where fees are to be paid wholly or in part by an employer/sponsor, confirmation in writing must be produced at enrolment.

Then don’t delay! We are still taking applications for September 2025 but a lot of our courses fill up, so submit your application sooner rather than later!
