Build your understanding of behaviour that challenges and develop the knowledge to support individuals safely and effectively.
This qualification is designed to help you develop awareness and understanding of behaviour that challenges and the impact it can have on individuals and those supporting them. It is suitable if you work, or would like to work, in health, social care, education or community support roles.
You will gain in-depth knowledge of how behaviour can escalate, how to respond appropriately in challenging situations and how to provide effective support following incidents. Studying online gives you the flexibility to learn at a time and pace that suits your work or home commitments, while still receiving structured tutor support.
What you’ll cover:
- Managing situations when an individual is acting in a challenging manner
- Preparing to manage incidents of behaviour that challenges
- Recognising when an individual’s behaviour has the potential to intensify
- Legislation and support relevant to behaviour that challenges
- Your role in providing support following incidents of challenging behaviour
For each unit, you will complete a set of knowledge-based questions as part of the formal assessment. Your tutor will provide feedback after each unit. All assessments must be completed and passed to successfully achieve the qualification.
Entry Requirements
Level 1 or equivalent English language qualification required.
