Develop your knowledge of autism and build the skills needed to support individuals effectively across health, social care and education settings.
This qualification is designed to help you develop a deeper knowledge and understanding of autism and how it affects individuals in different areas of life. It is ideal if you are working, or planning to work, in health, social care or education settings and want to build specialist knowledge in this area.
You will explore how autism is experienced, learn about support strategies and interventions, and understand how to respond to the needs of individuals in a range of settings. Studying online gives you the flexibility to learn at a time and pace that suits your work or home commitments, while still receiving structured support from experienced tutors.
What you’ll cover:
- Autism in context
- Positive behavioural support for autistic individuals
- Understanding the support and management of transition for autistic individuals
- Therapeutic interventions and support for autistic individuals, including co-occurring conditions
- Communication and social interaction with autistic individuals
- Safeguarding and resilience in autism
For each unit, you will complete a set of knowledge-based questions as part of the formal assessment. Your tutor will provide feedback after each unit. All assessments must be completed and passed to successfully achieve the qualification.
Entry Requirements
You will need a Level 2 or equivalent English language qualification to enrol on this course.

All learning materials are provided online. You will need access to a computer or laptop and a reliable internet connection.
After completing an induction, you will be provided with all the learning materials you need and will receive ongoing support and guidance from experienced professional tutors. This flexible learning option is ideal if you have a busy work or home life and want to study where and when it suits you.
