The purpose of the qualification is to develop learners knowledge and understanding of autism to support progression to employment and/or to further qualifications.

This qualification is designed for learners who wish to develop an understanding of autism and how to support individuals with autism.
It’s useful for learners who provide direct support and those working in sectors such as healthcare, social care, leisure, entertainment, nursing and education & training.

You will study…

  • Autism and behaviour
  • Legislation, guidance, information and support relevant to autism
  • Living with autism in society
  • Understand best practice in the context of autism
  • Understand the diagnosis and management of autism

You will be assessed by completing all the required assessments with your tutor providing feedback following completion of each. All assessments must be completed and passed in order for you to successfully achieve the qualification.

You may find it helpful if you have already achieved a Level 2 end-of-life qualification, or qualifications in health care or social care contexts.

This is a knowledge-only qualification; therefore no real work environment placement is required.

This course is fully online so you will need regular and reliable access to suitable equipment and broadband.
