Build your understanding of cyber security and learn how to stay safe online in an increasingly digital world.

This qualification is designed to help you develop knowledge and understanding of cyber security and its importance in today’s digital world. You will gain insight into the roles within the cyber security sector and the common threats faced by individuals and organisations.

You will explore how cyber risks can be identified and managed, as well as the legal and ethical considerations surrounding digital security. Studying online allows you to learn at a time and pace that suits your work or home commitments, while still receiving structured support from experienced tutors.

What you’ll cover:

  • Introduction to cyber security
  • Understanding terminology used in cyber security
  • Understanding legal and ethical aspects of cyber security
  • Understanding common threats to cyber security
  • Understanding methods of maintaining cyber security
  • Working with others in cyber security

For each unit, you will complete a set of knowledge-based questions as part of the formal assessment. Your tutor will provide feedback after each unit. All assessments must be completed and passed to successfully achieve the qualification.

Entry Requirements

Level 1 or equivalent English language qualification required.
