Build the knowledge and understanding needed to start or progress in a rewarding career within adult social care.
This qualification is designed to help you develop a strong understanding of the core principles required for a range of job roles within the adult health and social care sector.
You will explore key topics such as equality and diversity, safeguarding, duty of care, health and safety, person-centred approaches and handling information. The course provides a solid foundation of knowledge to support progression into employment or further study within adult social care.
Studying online gives you the flexibility to learn at a time and pace that suits your work or home commitments, while still receiving structured support from experienced tutors.
What you’ll cover:
- Introduction to duty of care in health and social care
- Principles of communication
- Principles of diversity, equality and inclusion
- Principles of personal development
- Principles of safeguarding and protection
- Understanding health and safety
- Understanding how to handle information
- Understanding person-centred approaches
- Understanding the role of the social care worker
For each unit, you will complete a set of knowledge-based questions as part of the formal assessment. Your tutor will provide feedback after each unit. All assessments must be completed and passed to successfully achieve the qualification.
Entry Requirements
Level 1 or equivalent English language and Maths qualification required.
