This introductory course is specifically designed for people looking to learn the skill of plastering, but who have little or no experience. It is suitable for people from other craft areas or homeowners looking to tackle improvements around the home.
This course provides a practical introduction to plastering, designed for beginners who want to develop essential skills and confidence in working with plaster. Whether you are looking to improve your DIY abilities or explore a possible career pathway, this course offers a solid starting point.
Delivered in a specialist workshop by experienced tutors, you will learn through hands-on activities in a supportive environment. You will develop an understanding of materials, tools and techniques while progressing at your own pace.
By the end of the course, you will have gained the knowledge and confidence to carry out basic plastering tasks independently.

- Health and safety requirements when using tools and equipment
- Understanding plastering materials and mixing correct ratios
- Basic rendering techniques
- Applying backing coats
- Achieving smooth plaster finishes

No prior experience is necessary – just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn a new skill.
