Improve your understanding of nutrition and healthy eating and build knowledge to support wellbeing at home, work or in care and hospitality roles.

This qualification is designed to help you increase your knowledge and understanding of nutrition and healthy eating. It is suitable for a wide range of learners, including parents, carers, catering staff and anyone interested in improving their understanding of food, nutrition and health.

You will explore how nutrition affects individuals at different life stages and learn how healthy eating supports overall wellbeing. Studying online gives you the flexibility to learn at a time and pace that suits your work or home commitments, while still receiving structured support from experienced tutors.

What you’ll cover:

  • Nutritional needs of a variety of individuals
  • Principles of healthy eating
  • Principles of food safety for the home environment
  • Principles of weight management
  • Understanding eating disorders
  • Using food and nutrition information to plan a healthy diet

For each unit, you will complete a set of knowledge-based questions as part of the formal assessment. Your tutor will provide feedback after each unit. All assessments must be completed and passed to successfully achieve the qualification.

Entry Requirements

Level 1 or equivalent English language and Maths qualification required.
