Explore machine embroidery as a creative art form, a way of drawing, mark‑making, and building texture with stitch.
This engaging course introduces machine embroidery as a form of artistic expression. Rather than focusing on traditional sewing techniques, you will use the sewing machine as a creative tool for mark making, texture and surface design.
Working in a friendly and supportive environment, you will explore how to embellish both fabric and paper using a mix of contemporary and experimental techniques. You will be guided step by step throughout the course and encouraged to develop your own creative style. You will be shown how to set up and confidently use a Bernina sewing machine, making this course suitable for beginners to more experienced makers.
By the end of the course, you will have produced a small portfolio of sample pieces and developed confidence in using machine embroidery for personal projects in textiles, fashion or art.
