This course provides an introduction to the creative world of illustration and visual storytelling. You will explore a range of traditional drawing materials and techniques while learning how to develop ideas into engaging visual outcomes.

Through guided practical activities, you will learn how to transform initial concepts and narratives into images using sketching, composition and storyboard techniques. Key elements of illustration such as line, tone, colour, texture and layout will be explored and applied in your work.

By the end of the course, you will have created a small body of illustrated work and gained confidence in expressing ideas visually. The skills developed can be used for personal creative projects or as a starting point for more commercial applications such as greeting cards, illustrated books, posters, animations and visual resources.
