Is English an additional language for you? Build confidence and improve your everyday English skills in a supportive learning environment.

This course is designed for adults who want to improve their basic English language skills for everyday life. It is ideal for learners whose first language is not English, or those who would like to refresh and strengthen their communication skills.

You will develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing English through practical and interactive sessions. Learning focuses on everyday situations such as shopping, travel, making appointments and talking to others, helping you use English more confidently in real-life contexts. Activities may include group discussions, role play, reading short texts, filling in simple forms and writing short sentences.

Sessions are relaxed and supportive, allowing you to progress at your own pace while building essential language skills.

What you’ll cover:

  • Developing basic speaking and listening skills
  • Reading short texts and everyday information
  • Writing simple sentences and short messages
  • Building vocabulary for daily situations
  • Basic grammar and sentence structure
  • Improving pronunciation and confidence
  • Using English in practical, real-life contexts

Entry Requirements

  • There are no formal entry requirements. You will complete an initial assessment to ensure you are placed on the correct level for your ability.
  • This course is suitable for learners whose first language is not English, or those wishing to refresh their basic English skills.

Information

No specialist equipment is required, just a willingness to take part and practice.
