Develop the knowledge and understanding needed to support people affected by cancer and take a positive step towards a career in care or support services.
This qualification is designed to help you build knowledge and understanding to support your work within adult health and social care settings. It is particularly suitable if you want to specialise in cancer support or develop your employment and progression opportunities within care services.
The course is also valuable if you provide informal care or support to someone living with cancer, helping you better understand their needs and the support available to them.
Studying online gives you the flexibility to learn at a time and pace that suits your work or home commitments, while still receiving structured tutor support.
What you’ll cover:
- Cancer awareness
- Introduction to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer
- Introduction to cancer care and support
- Introduction to end of life and bereavement care
For each unit, you will complete a set of knowledge-based questions as part of the formal assessment. Your tutor will provide feedback after each unit. All assessments must be completed and passed to achieve the qualification.

Level 1 or equivalent English language qualification required.
