Created by leading human anatomists ‘Premed Anatomy’ offers day long immersive educational experiences for students, giving an academically rich direct approach to learning how the human body works.

After introductions and discussions on dissection practice, students were able to watch the dissection process before having the opportunity to work on their own specimen.

A rich educational experience, today’s visit gave students not only the chance to learn about the theory, but a chance to hand real-life first-hand experience of dissecting a number of organs – turning the learning environment into a really interactive space.

Taran Clark, Access to HE student said, “I found the PreMed Anatomy session informative, allowing for a hands-on experience and a closer look at organs not readily available within the classroom setting in the depth provided by this workshop.”

Kanyarat Sutton, Access to HE student commented, “The PreMed Anatomy class was a useful experience which helped to further my understanding of human anatomy, it was interesting to see the organs in 3D and visualise what it would be like in a human. Having this experience will definitely help in my future career as a physiotherapist it taught me vital medical term and also helped me to understand the working relationships of the organs in the body.”

Simon Reed, Access to HE Programme Lead added “The PreMed Anatomy session provided students with hands-on experience of dissecting a variety of organs following academic standards used at University. While doing so, they were taught about the structure and function of the organs as well as the impacts of diseases/disorders on each organ that was viewed. The students thoroughly enjoyed the session, and they were all presented with a certificate which they will be able to use when applying to University.
