Craven College is delighted to announce that their Projects Team has been shortlisted for the Community Engagement Award – Higher Education/Further Education Sector for their provision of the Multiply and Rise2Thrive Initiatives at the Educate North Awards, the North’s most prestigious Education awards.

Multiply is an initiative funded by Better Connect designed to build confidence in numbers in daily life including budgeting, managing bills, healthy eating, understanding payslips, or specific numeracy skills such as percentages or fractions.

Rise2Thrive is a support programme for people who are economically inactive, or those in work who are neurodiverse, disabled, or struggling with a mental or physical health condition. Craven College offers one-to-one individualised support through the programme helping users navigate such barriers.

The Craven College Projects Team, through these two initiatives, aims to break down the barriers faced by people to ensure they can complete the education they need to gain employment. Adept at using funding available, the team reaches as many people and organisations as possible and develops programmes tailored to the needs of local community to ensure lasting impact and we’re delighted that their impact and commitment to delivering high-quality learning opportunities have been recognised on a wider level.

Duncan Bulloch, Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Skills said, “We’re absolutely thrilled for the Projects Team that their diligence and commitment has been rewarded by their shortlisting for the Community Engagement Award. The team has worked incredibly hard to successfully build sustainable networks and relationships and to support individuals in navigating barriers.

“We are immensely proud of the team for what they have achieved within the community and are delighted that has been recognised on a wider level”.

The awards dinner and ceremony takes place on Thursday 03 April 2025 at The Hilton Hotel in Manchester and we wish the Craven College Projects Team all the best, and can’t wait to hear about their evening!
