The Charity Dinner will raise funds for Martin House Children’s Hospice, supporting the vital care the charity provides to children and families across the region.

We were delighted to work in partnership with Skipton Town Council for this event, with Catering students preparing and serving the evening’s meal, Progression to Learning and Work students helping to set up the venue and serve the meal, and Hair & Beauty students pampering guests before the event! This collaboration offers our students valuable hands-on experience while showcasing our high standards of teaching and talent.

The Civic Charity Dinner brought together residents, community leaders, and businesses for an evening of fine dining and community spirit, whilst raising funds for Martin House Children’s Hospice, supporting the vital care the charity provides to children and families across the region.

The menu, prepared on campus by Catering students offered a glimpse into the amazing talents of our students in the kitchen whilst offering guests a diverse choice of dishes created expertly from locally sourced ingredients.

Feedback from the guests included: –

Great experience in fabulous facilities

Really nice to be pampered.”

Vanessa Rennison, Lecturer in Hairdressing and Advanced Practitioner said, “Level 3 students have a styling unit as part of their course, and it can be really hard to find clients who need treatments, so this was a great opportunity for students to be assessed whilst making their clients feel special!”

Anita Lall, Principal and CEO of Craven College said, “Craven College was delighted to support the Mayor’s Charity Dinner to raise funds for a very worthy cause, Martin House. Our students were a real credit to themselves, their teachers, and the College with many guests commenting to me how impressed they were by the professional service the students had provided.

A huge thank you also to the staff involved – the amount of hard work that has gone into supporting the students before and at the event is a testament to our ‘One College One Team’ value. I was so proud of them all!”

Louise Close, Chief Officer Skipton Town Council added, “What a delight to meet all the students and have them represent us on the night. From the girls in the salon pampering us to the students working the event, they were all wonderful and I really do thank each and every one of them.

I look forward to working closely with the College through the year at different events, a relationship I am very proud of.”
