WORK EXPERIENCE
Level 3 – Complete 315 hours of work placement is a mandatory part of your course and this links with one of your units. Unit 6 is made up of your work placement and a logbook which goes alongside this, and you receive a grade for this which contributes to your overall grade.
Level 2 – Complete 37 hours of work placement over a week period.

DBS Check
Student Services will send further details. For both levels, you must have a Disclosure and Baring Service certificate (DBS) and you will complete this with the College and the College will send this off on your behalf. You will be given a list of identification documents you will need to bring to complete this form. Student Services will send further details.
TRIPS
Over the year there will be visits from professionals working in the sector who will come and deliver a session to inform you of their role. Some examples are a Learning disability Nurse, Makaton & Special educational needs tutor and a complimentary therapist.
There will also be the opportunity to visit some university open days to help you consider your next steps after College.
The department will also be running a trip to the Thackery Medical Museum and we have had end of year trips to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Lightwater Valley.
