The course content focuses on preparing you for the next steps; either working in health care or studying at degree level. The T Level programme contains core units, preparing you to be industry-ready as well as project work with an employer and a substantial work placement. This gives you the critical all-round skills that will enable you to work in the highly regarded healthcare sector in the UK today.
You will combine classroom theory, practical learning and a minimum 45-day industry placement with an employer to make sure you have real experience of the workplace.

5 GCSEs grades 9-5 with Level 2 in a relevant subject area including Science, Maths and English GCSEs grades 9-5
Applicants will also need to attend an interview to assess suitability for the course
All students will develop a general understanding of health and science:
working within the health and science sector
health, safety and environmental regulations
managing information and data
principles of good scientific and clinical practice
core science concepts including the structure of cells, tissues and large molecules, genetics, microbiology and immunology
They will also learn about topics specific to healthcare science:
understanding the healthcare science sector
further knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, diseases and disorders, genomics and medical physics
providing person-centred care
infection prevention and control
good scientific practice
In addition to the core content, you will study the following specialism:
Assisting with healthcare science
Contribute to patient care by supporting physiological, physical and clinical engineering services to produce reliable data and images for use by healthcare professionals in diagnosis and treatment
Contribute to patient care by supporting the collection of a range of specimens for analysis to aid diagnosis and treatment
Contribute to patient care by processing and analysing service user specimens in a range of life science areas and laboratory environments to produce reliable data sets for use by healthcare professionals in diagnosis and treatment
