Building Services Engineering (BSE) for Construction – Electrotechnical Engineering (Electrical Installation) T Level

Over two years, you will combine classroom-based learning with practical training and valuable industry experience, helping you prepare for employment, an apprenticeship or higher-level study within the building services engineering sector.

The qualification is made up of three key elements:
Core Content – You will develop an understanding of the Building Services Engineering sector and the wider construction industry. Topics include health and safety, sustainability, scientific principles, construction processes, business environments, and the professional practices required within the industry.

Occupational Specialism: Electrotechnical Engineering (Electrical Installation) – You will gain specialist knowledge and practical skills relating to electrical installation, including electrical systems, installation methods, inspection and testing, fault diagnosis, and industry regulations. This element of the course is designed to prepare you for the demands of working as an electrician in a range of domestic, commercial and industrial settings.

Industry Placement – A compulsory industry placement forms a significant part of the qualification. You will spend a minimum of 315 hours working with an employer over the two years, gaining valuable real-world experience and developing the practical skills, professionalism and confidence expected by the industry.

You will learn in industry-standard workshops and practical environments, supported by experienced tutors with extensive knowledge of the construction and electrical industries. Throughout the programme, you will develop both your technical expertise and the wider employability skills required for success in the workplace.
