Supported Internships
A supported internship is a study programme that enables young people, aged 16-24 who hold an Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP), to move into employment by equipping them with the skills they need for work, through learning in the workplace.
The Supported Internship programme usually lasts one year and includes unpaid work placements of at least six months, and wherever possible, with the end aim of the intern moving into paid employment.
Our trained job coach supports our interns throughout their Supported Internship journey ensuring they thrive in the workplace, helping them master their job role and gradually developing the confidence to work unsupported, as far as possible.
Our recent interns have worked in a wide variety of industries such as catering, hospitality, leisure, administration, marketing, horticulture and equine.
During the programme, our Supported Interns complete a personalised study programme that will includes English, maths and employability skills, getting them ready for the world of work.
Applications for Supported Internships for September 2024 entry are now closed due to reaching maximum capacity. Applications for September 2025 entry will open in October.
