Supported Internships
A supported internship is a structured study programme based primarily with an employer. Supported Internships enable young people aged 16-24 who hold an Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP) and want to move into employment by equipping them with the skills they need for work, through learning in the workplace.
The Supported Internship programme usually lasts one year and includes unpaid work placements of at least six months.
Our trained job coach offers personalised support to the young people while they are in the workplace, helping them master their job role and gradually develop the confidence to work unsupported, as far as possible.
During the programme young people complete a personalised study programme which includes English, maths and employability skills.
