Develop your understanding of specific learning difficulties and learn how to support individuals effectively in education and care settings.
This qualification is designed to help you develop knowledge and understanding of a range of specific learning difficulties (SpLDs), how they are identified and how individuals can be supported.
You will explore how specific learning difficulties can affect learning and development, gain insight into the diagnostic process and understand strategies to support individuals in different settings. This course is suitable if you are working, or would like to work, in education, health, social care or support roles.
Studying online gives you the flexibility to learn at a time and pace that suits your work or home commitments, while still receiving structured support from experienced tutors.

- Understanding the effects of specific learning difficulties
- Understanding the diagnosis of specific learning difficulties
- Understanding how to support individuals with specific learning difficulties
- Understanding the wider context of specific learning difficulties
For each unit, you will complete a set of knowledge-based questions as part of the formal assessment. Your tutor will provide feedback after each unit. All assessments must be completed and passed to successfully achieve the qualification.
Entry Requirements
Level 1 or equivalent English language and Maths qualification required.
